The Working Group on Soil Systematics was founded in 1952. The first focus was a systematic grouping of soil genetic processes. In the course of time this goal was added by grouping soil formed parent materials and structuring soil associations (pedocoenosis). See www.bodensystematik.de (Rueckblick).
