The Commission IV (Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition) is one of eight commissions within the German Soil Science Society. It is the aim of this commission to promote the scientific exchange and the discussion of recent scientific subjects. Students and young soil scientists shall be inspired and promoted within this area of soil science. Members of the commission IV organise conferences and workshop focussing on different issues within soil fertility and plant nutrition, often together with other commissions of the DGB and other scientific societies. A close cooperation exists with the German Society for Plant Nutrion.
