Welcome:
Trier University and the Department of Soil Science are delighted to host this year’s DBG Annual Meeting and welcome you all at the university campus in Trier. The campus offers ample space for parallel talk and poster sessions. Field trips take you to the area around Trier – Moselle, Hunsrück and the Western Eifel mountains – and further away to the Volcanic Eifel, the Rhine valley into the border region and into Luxembourg and France (Lorraine). In addition there will be a number of events for the Young Professionals in Soil Science (YPSS): Soil Pitch, Meet the Editors, etc., including the Soil Contest with attractive prizes (cancelled due to low participation).
The conference is supported by the Faculty VI Spatial and Environmental Sciences and the Centre for Classical and Ancient Studies at Trier University, the University of Koblenz-Landau, the University of Bonn, the University of Tübingen, Jena University, Forschungszentrum Jülich, the State Office for Geology and Mining of Rhineland-Palatinate (LGB-RLP), the Research Institute for Forest Ecology and Forestry of Rhineland-Palatinate (FAWF) together with the Hunsrück National Park (state forests of Rhineland-Palatinate), the UNESCO Vulkanland Eifel Geopark, the DLR Steep Slope Centre Moselle, and last but not least all Luxembourg colleagues at the Administration des Services Techniques de l’Agriculture (ASTA) and the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), as well as the INRA Nancy-Lorraine in France.
Please note the following: The conference is planned as a purely on-site event. We will keep a close eye on the pandemic situation and take measures as appropriate.
Timetable:Early bird: 14 July 2022
Regular conference registration: until 07 August 2022
Pre-Excursions: 3rd and 4th September 2022
Conference: Monday, 5th to Thursday, 8th of September 2022
After-Excursions: 9th of September 2022.
The conference will use rooms in buildings B and C of the Trier University's campus I.
